Gary P. Galazin, 72, of Beaverton died May 31, 2018.

Gary was born Jan. 18, 1946, in Omer. Gary graduated from Standish-Sterling Central High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1967-1969. He went on to receive his Bachelor of Arts from Saginaw Valley State University and his Master of Business Administration from Michigan State University. He worked as a senior evaluator for the U.S. General Accounting Office in Detroit from 1980-1995 and later as a salesman for Dean Arbour Ford Jeep of Pinconning.

Gary enjoyed playing cards with family and going to the casino. He was a fan of the Detroit Tigers and enjoyed listening to their games. He especially enjoyed spending time in nature, whether hunting, fishing, walking in the woods or just napping in one of his handmade tree stands.

Gary is survived by his children, Stacy (D’Anne) Witkowski and David (Judy Halls) Galazin; his grandson, Gavin Witkowski; and granddaughter, Drew Galazin. He is also survived by his sister, Joan (the late Roger) Bessinger; his nephew, Brian Bessinger; and his nieces, Regina (Kent) Sebastian and Catina (Robert) Kristofik.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Mary Galazin.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at Resurrection of the Lord Church, Standish, on June 8.
