Kenneth H. Walker Sr., 80, of Standish passed away Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017, at McLaren Bay Region hospital.

Ken was born March 31, 1937, in Bentley to the late Herbert H. and Ethel (Papple) Walker. He married the former Betty J. Snyder April 26, 1958. Betty passed away Jan. 15, 2002. He graduated from Sterling High School in 1955. Ken served his country by serving in the U.S. Air Force from 1955 until his retirement in 1978 as a senior master tech sergeant. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading and his many trips to the casino. Ken loved going for rides with his brother Jerry until he passed away in 2014. He also very much enjoyed being with and around his family. Ken will be thoroughly missed by his faithful companion, Teddy, the dog.

Kenneth is survived by his four children, Kenneth (Marie) Walker Jr., Cyndi Walker, Maurya (Joe) Walker and Kelly (Dan) Walker. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and four sisters-in-law, Sharon Walker, Dian Snyder, Tootsie Snyder and Catherine Gavord.

Ken was predeceased by his wife of 46 years, Betty; his parents; three sisters, Linda Loper, Betty Loper and Twila Cousineau; and one brother, Jerry Walker.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017, at 7 p.m. at the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home Standish Chapel, Standish, where Shelly Umphrey will officiate. According to Ken’s wishes, cremation will take place after the services. Burial of the ashes will take place at another date in Gibson Township Cemetery, Bentley. Family will greet family and friends Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017, from 4 p.m. until time of service at 7 p.m. during which full military honors will be bestowed.
