Lawrence G. Randall, 96, of Au Gres, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather, went to his heavenly home Friday, Oct. 6, 2017.

He was born Sept. 5, 1921, in Bancroft to the late George F. and Anna (Johnson) Randall. Lawrence graduated from Bancroft High School in 1938. He went to work for Woodard Furniture Factory in Owosso. Lawrence joined the Army on July 20, 1942, and married Marjellen Deckrow on Nov. 5, 1943. He was sent overseas to serve in World War II at Omaha Beach and in France, where he was wounded and received the Purple Heart medal. After release from the Army he went to work as an auto-body repair man for Pierce Ford Motor Sale in Durand. In 1958 he opened his own auto-body repair shop in a White Rose Gas Station near Durand. After many years in his own business, he went to work for State Farm Insurance Co. as an auto insurance claims adjuster. He retired from State Farm in 1983. After retiring he and his wife traveled to Florida until health reasons caused him to stop. They then settled in the Standish area. He started refinishing and building furniture, which he continued to do until two months ago. He enjoyed many things in life, especially being with his family and friends.

He is survived by a sister, Annabelle (Randall) Grover; and his children, Sherry (Ken) Waldie, Gary (Joleen) Randall and Suzette Randall. Lawrence also leaves behind his grandchildren, Steve (Tammie) Waldie, Nancy (James) Mitchell, Michael (Cheryl) Waldie, Timothy (Sarah) Waldie Todd Randall, Tasha Randall, DaNae (Randall) Wilkinson, Karla (Sean) Hawkes, Trina (Marcus) Weaver, Neal Brown and friend, Brandi (Chris) Coffin and Travis (Amenda) Brown. He is also survived by 19 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Lawrence will be missed by many nieces and nephews, friends and his faithful dog, Paco.

He was predeceased by his parents; and his wife of 63 years, Marjellen, in 2006. Also preceding him in death are his brothers, Vern Randall and Lloyd Randall; and his sister, Iva L. (Randall) Edson.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2017, at 11 a.m. at the Divine Shepherd Christian Community church with Pastor John Tousciuk officiating. Burial will be in Fremont Cemetery, Bancroft. Lawrence will lie in state from 10 a.m. until time of service. Family will greet family and friends from 2-8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 9, at the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home Standish Chapel.

The family would like to thank the many doctors, nurses and McLaren Hospice for taking such wonderful care of Lawrence over the years. They would especially like to thank Denise and Juanita for the wonderful care over the last few months.
