Lawrence J. “Larry” Cameron, 76, of Standish passed away Saturday, Aug. 11, 2018, at his residence with his family by his side.

He was born July 8, 1942, in Gladwin to the late Alex and Vera (Tenwalde) Cameron. Larry married Noel Louise Switzer July 7, 1962, in Gladwin. Larry graduated from Michigan State University. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing and his many visits to local farmers. Larry also enjoyed watching his grandkids play sports and also watching the Detroit Tigers and the Spartans on TV. He was a past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus. Larry also served his community by being a volunteer fireman and township clerk, both for Gibson Township.

Larry is survived by his wife, Noel Louise; and his five children, Lisa (Greg) Norris, Lynn Cameron, Lowell (Jennifer) Cameron, Lawrence (Angie) Cameron and Leslie (Rodney) Worden; grandchildren, Courtney (Josh) Tyler, Rachel, Madison, Lane, Addison, Lance, Laken, Levi, Leo and Reese; and great-grandchildren, Slate and Clay. Larry is also survived by two sisters, Patricia Haring and Susan Lang; and five sisters-in-law, Dorothy Cameron, Joyce Cameron, Joanne Cameron, Bev Cameron and Connie (Grant) Stahl; and one brother-in-law, Lyle McLincha.

He was predeceased by six sisters, Lucille Plude, Helen Ballard, Agnes Oard, Jean Hickerson, Kathy McLincha and Marcella Miller; and five brothers, Ken, Paul, Dick, Tom and Duane.

Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, Aug. 16, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Resurrection of the Lord Catholic Church with the Rev. Father David Parsch officiating. Interment will be in Gibson Township Cemetery, Bentley. The family will greet family and friends from 1-8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, at the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home Standish Chapel, where a prayer service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Larry will lie in state at Resurrection of the Lord Catholic Church Thursday from 9 a.m. until time of Mass at 11 a.m.
