Maxine Lawrence, 91, of Prescott passed away Thursday, Nov. 8, 2018.

Maxine was born Dec. 6, 1926, in Alger to the late Budd and Elizabeth Geister. She married James “Fred” Lawrence Aug. 10, 1967, in Rose City. Maxine worked for Standish Products. She lived all her life in the Alger area. Maxine enjoyed playing cards, doing puzzles, gardening, baking and making cookies.

Maxine is survived by two children, Linda J. (Rick) Porter and David A. (Debi Reetz) Klump. Maxine is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Wholly Geister and Robert G. (Marian) Geister; and four sisters, Ethel Rector, Marion Belding, Caroline Townsend and Shirley Wiseman; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, James “Fred” Lawrence; three children, William R. (Cindy) Ide, Judith A. (Carlen A. James) Ide and Kim M. (Sharon Niver) Ide; and one brother, Clarence Geister.

Funeral services will be Monday, Nov. 12, 2018, at 1 p.m. at the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home Standish Chapel, with Pastor John Tousciuk officiating and interment in Alger Cemetery, Alger. The family will greet friend at the funeral home from 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 12, until the time of service at 1 p.m.
