Michael Matthew “Dud” Bilacic, 79, of Au Gres passed away Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017, at McLaren Bay Region in Bay City, surrounded by family.

Mike was born July 6, 1938, in Turner to the late Michael and Helen (Maytas) Bilacic. He married Lois Odeal Proulx on June 20, 1959, at St. Mark Catholic Church in Au Gres and together raised two daughters, Michele and Jean.

Mike was an employee of Bopp-Busch Manufacturing Company. He later owned and operated Bilacic Trucking in Au Gres with his brother Ed, which is still in operation today. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mike was a long-time member of the Arenac County Walleye Club. Mike is survived by his loving wife, Lois; daughters, Michele Goedecke and Jean (James) Bilacic-Lepard; grandchildren, Brent J. Lynch, Jenelle K. (Sreesh) Lynch and Lauren N. (Charlie) Heath; great-grandchildren, Isabel M. Lynch, Michael J. Lynch, Marlowe K. Valiyaveettil, Matteo K. Valiyaveettil, Hudson J. Heath, Keaton J. Heath and Maevyn J. Heath; sister, Alma (James) McCready; long-time friend and neighbor, Gerald Maser; and a host of other family members and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by brothers, John (Dorothy) Bilacic, Henry (Catherine) Bilacic and Edward (Betty) Bilacic; and sisters, Elsie (Lincoln) Ennes and Anna (Walter) Lappe.

Visitation for Michael will be held 2-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017, at Buresh Funeral Home, 101 E. Michigan Ave., Au Gres, MI 48703 with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. (in state 10 a.m.) Friday, Nov. 10, 2017, at St. Mark Catholic Church, 415 S. Court St., Au Gres, with Father Gerald Balwinski officiating. Interment will follow in Sims-Whitney Township Cemetery in Au Gres.
