Phillip Butler Walker, 91, of Sterling passed away Monday morning, Jan. 21, 2019, with family by his side at home.

Phillip was born Dec. 12, 1927, in Barfield, Ark., to the late Johnnie and Littie (Graham) Walker. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran. Phillip married the former Carol F. (Kreinbring) in 1962 and together they began raising their four daughters, Carolyn, Helen, Judy and Elizabeth. He dedicated 30 years of hard work to American Aggregates Incorporated in Brighton prior to his retirement. Because of this dedicated work, Phillip instilled a great work ethic in all of his family. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing.

Phillip is survived by his daughters, Carolyn Janssen, Helen Walker, Judy (Mark) Burroughs and Elizabeth Godak; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Jackie Walker and Freddie Walker; sister, Bobbie Goodman; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Phillip was preceded in death by his wife, Carol, in 2005.

According to family wishes, cremation has taken place. He will be laid to rest in Green Oak Plains Cemetery in Brighton at a later date.
