Robert James Sanch Sr., 82, of Standish, loving, father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2019, at his home with his loving family by his side.

He was born May 19, 1936, in Standish, to the late Eva (Duprie) Sanch. He married the love of his life, Roberta, on Nov. 6, 1954. She predeceased him on June 15, 2017. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. Robert was a member of the Resurrection of the Lord Catholic Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3724. He was employed at Northern Tube for numerous years until owning and operating Arenac Lanes for more than 40 years. Robert enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and bowling, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.

He is survived by his children, Pamela (Buddy) Berry, Mary (Mike) Krysinski, Robert (Rhonda) Sanch Jr. and Cynthia (Jerry) LaLonde; a son-in-law, Delbert LaPan; 20 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren; his brother, Carl (Eta Mae) Sanch; sisters, Elizabeth Staley, Beverley Trudell and Geraldine Shoultes; as well as many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

He was predeceased by his wife; a daughter, Donna LaPan; sisters, Della (Chester) Tucholski, Ellen (Arthur) McLincha and Marilyn (Fred) Shayler; and brothers-in-law, William Staley, Kenneth Trudell and Harvey Shoultes.

Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, March 7, 2019, at 10 a.m. at the Resurrection of the Lord Catholic Church with the Rev. Father David Parsch presiding, with burial in Resurrection of the Lord Cemetery will full military funeral honors. Friends may call at the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home Standish Chapel on Wednesday from 2-8 p.m., with a prayer vigil at 7 p.m. On Thursday, Robert will lie in state at the church from 9 a.m. until time of service.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to InTeliCare Hospice, especially Monica and Shannon for the compassionate care given to their father.
