Roy Samuel McLincha, 97, passed away Friday, March 17, 2017.
Roy was born Jan. 12, 1920, to the late Allen and Grace (Faulds) McLincha in Gibson Township, Bentley. Roy married the former Gladys Imogene Gorforth Aug. 23, 1958, in Saginaw. Gladys passed away June 16, 2002. He lived in the Rose City area since 1975. Roy was employed by General Motors from 1942-1975, retiring at the age of 55. He worked 33 years in job set-up. Roy served his country by serving in the U. S. Army during World War II. He served as a corporal in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater of Operations. He was an airplane armorer. Roy was an avid hunter and he loved the outdoors. Roy was a devoted member of Mio Baptist Church, Mio.
Roy is survived by one daughter, Cherie Rogers; three stepchildren, Marie (Gary) O’Dette, Edward (Sue) Marshall and Alice Moore; and a daughter-in-law, Susan Marshall. Roy is also survived by several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He is also survived by one brother, Arthur McLincha; and one sister, Margaret Love.
Roy was predeceased by three stepsons, James Marshall, William Marshall and Charles Marshall; two brothers, Raymond McLincha and Frank McLincha; one sister, Francis McLincha Currie; two sisters-in-law, Ellen McLincha and Doris McLincha; and one brother-in-law, Wayne Love.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at 3 p.m. at the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home Standish Chapel with the Rev. Glynn McMorris officiating. Burial will be in Gibson Township Cemetery where full military honors will be bestowed. Family will greet family and friends Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home Standish Chapel from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 3 p.m.
