Rudolph H. “Rudy” Eichstaedt, 81, of Au Gres passed away Wednesday afternoon, April 5, 2017, at Lakeview Manor Nursing Home in Tawas City.

Rudy was born July 27, 1935, in Au Gres, the youngest of six children, to the late William and Katherine (Maser) Eichstaedt. He married the former Helen M. Jantzi on July 30, 1954, at the Au Gres United Methodist Church, and together they raised four daughters, Peggy, Patti, Pamela and Penny. Rudy was a foreman for Bopp-Busch for many years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all farming. Rudy and his family would grow and harvest crops on their property and sell them at Eichstaedt Produce on Santiago Road for many years.

Rudy is survived by his loving wife, Helen; daughters, Peggy Ann Yotkois, Patti Jane (George “Bill”) Yotkois, Pamela Sue (John) Young and Penny Kay (Jeff) Hayes; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Jordan; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Rudy will take place from 2-8 p.m. Monday, April 10, 2017, and from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at Buresh Funeral Home, 101 E. Michigan Ave., Au Gres, MI 48703. Funeral service for Rudy will take place 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Pastor David Wichert will officiate with interment following in Linwood Cemetery in Au Gres. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Eichstaedt family wishes. Online condolences may be offered at www.bureshfuneralhomes.com.
