Rufus J. Klosowski Jr.

Died Nov. 22, 2017


Rufus J. Klosowski Jr., 80, of Alger, formerly of Bay City, passed away peacefully at his home Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2017, with his loving wife of 59 years by his side.

Rufus was born Aug. 13, 1937, to the late Rufus Sr. and Theola (Groulx) Klosowski. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1954-1958. Rufus married Mary Ann Sniecinski of Bay City on Nov. 11, 1958. He enjoyed riding his garden tractor and doing yard work. Rufus enjoyed playing cards and building birdhouses. One of his favorite hobbies was bird watching. He also enjoyed camping and the outdoors. Rufus loved family get-togethers with all his grandchildren.

Rufus is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; and his two children, Karen (Alan Erskine) Klosowski and Robert John (Nadine) Klosowski. He is also survived by five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jerome (Ruthann) Klosowski and Dennis (Cheryl) Klosowski; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Adrianna Klosowski, in 2001.

According to Rufus’ wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017, at the Resurrection of the Lord Catholic Church, Standish, at 11 a.m. The family will greet family and friends from 10 a.m. until time of service at the Resurrection of the Lord Catholic Church. Following the service, full military honors will be bestowed.
