Here are some stories that we’re reading today:

-The New York Times reports on the effects of the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting on the first responders, many of whom are suffering from post traumatic stress syndrome as a result.

-CBS reports that Research in Motion launched its new BlackBerry 10 operating system today. BlackBerry was once the pinnacle of business phones, but has since seen its position slip as Android and iOS devices have gotten better. RIM also announced it is changing its corporate name to BlackBerry.

-CNN is reporting on storms that brought high winds that caused extreme damage in the Nashville, Tennessee area early Wednesday. The storm system stretched from Louisiana to Michigan, according to the report.

-And finally, ESPN details the “new normal” in NASCAR, as the news and notes from the 2013 media tour have a different spin than past years, including the much-talked about romance between drivers Danica Patrick and Ricky Stenhouse Jr.
