Bicyclist killed in car-bicycle accident


MASON TWP. — A collision between an automobile and bicycle June 13 in Mason Township resulted in the death of a 57-year-old Hale man.

Brian Kreiner was riding a bicycle along M-65 just south of Maple Ridge Road when a Chrysler Sebring driven southbound by Maria Juneac, 27, of East Tawas impacted the bicycle. The incident was reported at approximately 6:39 a.m. Tuesday. Juneac was not injured in the crash.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation. As of Monday, June 19, the investigation by and accident recreationist was still ongoing, McIntyre said.

The Arenac County Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by the Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Police and Twining-Mason-Turner Fire Department.
