In 1955, she married Arthur Erickson and together they raised three children, Debbie, Susan and Randy. Virginia worked as a waitress for 60 years and was lovingly remembered by local residents as the face of Lixey’s Restaurant. She was an avid NASCAR race fan and also enjoyed playing bingo. But most of all Virginia truly adored and cherished her family and all the time spent together.

Virginia is survived now by her three loving children and their spouses, Debbie (Pete) Guoan, Sue (Gary) Parsons and Randy (Dana) Erickson; five grandchildren, Chad Guoan, Mindy (Robert) Ward, Megan Parsons, Josh (Morgan) Erickson and Haley Erickson; three great-grandchildren, Caleb, Kelsey and Greyson; and a very close friend, Beatrice Ennis.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Mary Povish; her husband, Arthur; sister, Margaret Gilskey, brother, Kenny Povish; a special daughter-in-law, Catherine (Reiter) Erickson; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Her family will welcome friends for visitation Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Buresh Funeral Home in Tawas City. A rosary will be prayed that evening at 7 p.m. Her funeral mass will be Saturday, Sept. 2, 2017. Friends may pay their respects to her family at the church Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Virginia will be laid to rest in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Cemetery in Tawas City. An online guest registry is available at www.bureshfuneralhomes.com.
